Dalla biglietteria avrete accesso alla visita delle stanze affrescate del palazzo. All\u2019interno della prima, Sala delle gesta di Ascanio, completamente affrescata da Niccol\u00f2 Circignani detto il Pomarancio, vi ritroverete immersi nella vita militare di Ascanio della Corgna, il personaggio pi\u00f9 importante della famiglia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-xj7VX\" data-uniq-id=\"lu4tj\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-cVGOO\"><strong>Dall\u2019ultima stanza (sala di Cesare) troverete una terrazza che permette l\u2019accesso al camminamento coperto che porta alla Fortezza Medievale. Gi\u00e0 dalla terrazza \u00e8 possibile godere di un panorama mozzafiato sul lago Trasimeno.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-nmZti\" data-uniq-id=\"lu4tj\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-cVGOO\"><strong>Il Palazzo della Corgna \u00e8 stato costruito a partire dal 1563 inglobando il palazzo Baglioni dei primi del \u2018500.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-wjVry\" data-uniq-id=\"lu4tj\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-cVGOO\"><strong> il Palazzo era nato come villa di delizie e di svaghi della famiglia della Corgna, ma le successive vicende storiche, che portarono al distacco dal feudo di Castel della Pieve, l\u2019odierna Citt\u00e0 della Pieve, lo trasformarono nel palazzo di residenza della famiglia nella capitale del marchesato. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-y34DP\" data-uniq-id=\"lu4tj\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-cVGOO\"><strong>Ancora incerta \u00e8 la paternit\u00e0 del progetto, dibattuta tra Alessi e Vignola.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-q934h\" data-uniq-id=\"lu4tj\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-cVGOO\"><strong>L\u2019edificio si sviluppa su una pianta a elle rovesciata e comprende due ali: quella a Sud destinata ad abitazione dei marchesi Ascanio, poi Diomede, Ascanio II e Fulvio Alessandro, quella ad Ovest a residenza saltuaria del cardinale Fulvio. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-aRYBS\" data-uniq-id=\"lu4tj\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-cVGOO\"><strong>Nei quattro piani che lo compongono, trovavano alloggiamento al piano terra, le cantine, nel seminterrato, la cucina e i magazzini alimentari, ai due livelli superiori, sale di rappresentanza e camere da letto.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-pWrH3\" data-uniq-id=\"lu4tj\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-cVGOO\"><strong>Il percorso museale del Palazzo della Corgna si articola al livello del primo piano ove si trovano otto sale affrescate. Realizzate tra il 1574 ed il 1590 da una \u00e9quipe di pittori guidata da Niccol\u00f2 Circignani detto il Pomarancio, le scene raffigurano le gesta di Ascanio e vari temi mitologici e storici.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-aqbEi\" data-uniq-id=\"lu4tj\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-cVGOO\"><strong>La scelta di tali soggetti fu sicuramente influenzata dalla cerchia di letterati che gravitava intorno alla famiglia della Corgna. Si ricorda in particolare Cesare Caporali, poeta di corte, che descrisse e lod\u00f2 le bellezze del palazzo, circondato da magnifici giardini nel suo poema chiamati: \u201cGli orti di Mecenate\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-sMfLq\" data-uniq-id=\"lu4tj\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-cVGOO\"><strong>Il percorso museale del Palazzo della Corgna inizia dalla sala d\u2019ingresso, detta \u201cSala di Paride\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-dHviR\" data-uniq-id=\"lu4tj\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-cVGOO\"><strong>Al centro della volta, opera del Pomarancio, \u00e8 dipinto il Giudizio di Paride mentre negli ottagoni laterali sono raffigurati Ercole che uccide l\u2019Idra, Diana e Endimione, Perseo e Andromeda, Piramo e Tisbe. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-lk12L\" data-uniq-id=\"lu4tj\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-cVGOO\"><strong>Gli affreschi celebrano il matrimonio tra Diomede della Corgna, nipote e figlio adottivo di Ascanio, con Porzia Colonna. You are in the entrance hall and to your left is the ticket office and bookshop. From the ticket office you will have access to a tour of the frescoed rooms of the palace. Inside the first one, the Room of the Deeds of Ascanio, completely frescoed by Niccol\u00f2 Circignani known as il Pomarancio, you will find yourself immersed in the military life of Ascanio della Corgna, the most important figure of the family.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-t9Sip\" data-uniq-id=\"ou_dn\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-sdLoP\"><strong>From the last room (Cesare&#8217;s room) you will find a terrace that provides access to the covered walkway leading to the Medieval Fortress. Already from the terrace you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Lake Trasimeno.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-coWCU\" data-uniq-id=\"qKsTo\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-k4ohN\"><strong>The Palazzo della Corgna is the most important monument in Castiglione del Lago. With its rooms rich in frescoes and history, it is an essential destination for any visitor to Lake Trasimeno.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-wOG5o\" data-uniq-id=\"pmwWO\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-vShfp\"><strong>Visiting the Palazzo della Corgna means allowing oneself to be fully involved in the lake atmosphere. In fact, it begins with a visit to its frescoed rooms steeped in the history of the area and then concludes with a walk through the walls of the Rocca, from which one literally &#8216;dominates&#8217; the entire Lake Trasimeno. The Palazzo della Corgna also makes its spaces available to theatrical and scenic performances of the medieval period in which it was built.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-n8JZ0\" data-uniq-id=\"l4Eu0\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-jTHF5\"><strong>Built from 1563 onwards by incorporating the early 16th-century Palazzo Baglioni, the Palazzo della Corgna &#8220;resembling a palace&#8221; was originally intended as a villa of delights and leisure for the della Corgna family, but subsequent historical events, which led to its detachment from the feud of Castel della Pieve, today&#8217;s Citt\u00e0 della Pieve, transformed it into the family&#8217;s residence in the capital of the marquisate. The authorship of the project is still uncertain, debated between G. Alessi and Vignola.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-xjV8x\" data-uniq-id=\"eE4po\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-bqHZO\"><strong>The Palazzo della Corgna building is built on an inverted L-shaped plan and comprises two wings: the one to the south intended as the residence of the marquises Ascanio, later Diomede, Ascanio II and Fulvio Alessandro, and the one to the west as the occasional residence of Cardinal Fulvio. Its four floors housed the cellars on the ground floor, the kitchen and food stores in the basement, and reception rooms and bedrooms on the two upper levels.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-dqAEV\" data-uniq-id=\"dJvSz\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-or7_M\"><strong>The museum tour of Palazzo della Corgna is organised on the first floor level where eight frescoed rooms are located. Realised between 1574 and 1590 by a team of painters led by Niccol\u00f2 Circignani known as il Pomarancio, the scenes depict the exploits of Ascanio and various mythological and historical themes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-gAqTh\" data-uniq-id=\"fiHtN\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-dRv4S\"><strong>The choice of such subjects was certainly influenced by the circle of men of letters that gravitated around the della Corgna family. Of particular mention is made of Cesare Caporali, court poet, who described and praised the beauty of the palace surrounded by magnificent gardens in his poem &#8216;Gli orti di Mecenate&#8217;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-text-lg-justify ql-align-justify brz-tp-lg-paragraph brz-css-z75Nc\" data-uniq-id=\"zbTgB\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-sWZ0m\"><strong>The museum of the Palazzo della Corgna starts from the entrance hall, called \u201cHall of Paris\u201d. At the center of the ceiling, the work of the Pomarancio, is painted as the \u201cJudgment of Paride\u201d while on the octagons beside it\u2019s painted Hercules killing the Hydra, Diana and Endymion, Perseus and Andromeda, Pyramus and Thisbe. The \u201caffreschi\u201d celebrate the marriage between Diomede Corgna, nephew and adopted son of Ascanio, with Portia Colonna. The four stamps at the corners show the relationship with the Colonna, on the left the stamp of Cardinal Fulvio Corgna, brother of Ascanio, mixed with that of Ciocchi del Monte, the house of Pope Julius III and Giacoma, mother of Ascanio and Fulvio, and stamp of Diomede Corgna.
